The CDC document entitled: “CDC 2019-Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) Real-Time RT-PCR Diagnostic Panel.” it says:
“Since no quantified virus isolates of the 2019-nCoV are currently available, assays [diagnostic tests] designed for detection of the 2019-nCoV RNA were tested with
characterized stocks of in vitro transcribed full length RNA…” Key words are “Since no quantified virus isolates of the 2019-nCoV are currently available”—NO VIRUS HAS BEEN ISOLATED. SO WHERE IS THE VIRUS?

A friend recently said that I must be misinterpreting the article mentioned above. How does one misinterpret the statement that no isolates of the virus are available? And because it uses the word “Since”, it means that BECAUSE no isolates of the virus are available, diagnostic tests were made with “characterized stocks of in vitro transcribed full length RNA”
Dr. Cary Mullis, the inventor of the Polymerase Chain Reaction process which is used to test if you are positive or negative for this virus clearly stated never to use that process for that purpose.
